Sustainable Development Goals

Fulfilling these goals is the main purpose of every government. If the food gets so expensive that some of the population cannot afford it, the government of the country is failing its job miserably. The companies can have a rather limited power to make a change for the whole society, but they can take small steps such as providing jobs or paying for their workers’ healthcare.

         Finally, there are some goals that focus on the economic aspects, such as innovation or responsible consumption. These goals are more abstract, so even establishing what they involve can be challenging, not to mention deciding who should be responsible for solving these issues. But together with other goals, they comprise what is called “a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future”, because people are not satisfied with simply eating and drinking - they also want progress.

Overall, the SDGs are a commendable attempt of the nations to improve people’s lives for the better.
